Pune district in Maharashtra, India, is set to welcome the state's first dedicated 100-bed critical care hospital next month, significantly boosting its public health infrastructure. Located on the Aundh District Hospital campus, the facility is funded by the Union Health Ministry and developed under the PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). Designed to manage serious medical emergencies, the hospital will feature 20 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, including four for pediatric patients, and 20 high dependency unit (HDU) beds. Additionally, it will include a 30-bed isolation ward and 12 isolation rooms for managing infectious diseases. Dr. Nagnath Yempalle, Pune district civil surgeon, emphasized that the hospital's inauguration will significantly enhance critical care services and emergency preparedness in the region.
