In a tragic incident in Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh, Shobhit Gupta, a 35-year-old scrap dealer, allegedly murdered his wife, Poonam Gupta, following a dispute over her daily routine. The argument escalated when Shobhit attacked Poonam with an iron rod, inflicting fatal injuries to her head. After the attack, he reportedly kept her body in their home for several hours, attempting to stage the scene as an accident. When their daughter returned from school and inquired about her mother, Shobhit avoided the question and sent her away. Eventually, he contacted the police, falsely claiming that Poonam had suffered injuries from a fall. However, police found inconsistencies in his story upon arrival, leading to his confession during questioning. Superintendent of Police Ranvijay Singh confirmed that a case has been registered against Shobhit based on a complaint from Poonam's family, who accused him of long-term harassment and abuse.
