India has successfully secured access to Anthropic's Mythos, a cutting-edge AI cybersecurity model, aimed at identifying critical software vulnerabilities. This development follows negotiations with U.S. authorities and marks a significant step for India in enhancing its cybersecurity infrastructure. Mythos is part of Anthropic's Project Glasswing, which focuses on using AI to proactively address software vulnerabilities. The model's capabilities far exceed traditional security measures, reportedly discovering tens of thousands of vulnerabilities, some of which have been undetected for decades. The expansion of access includes approximately 150 organizations across more than 15 countries, enhancing cybersecurity in essential sectors like banking, healthcare, and telecommunications. However, while Mythos offers significant defensive advantages, experts caution that such advanced AI technologies could also be exploited by malicious actors. For India, this access not only strengthens its cyber resilience but also positions the country to actively participate in shaping the future of AI in cybersecurity.
