Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, a senior member of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), has publicly accused party leader Mamata Banerjee of instructing others to verbally abuse her following her resignation from all organizational roles last month. Dastidar, who has been associated with Banerjee for four decades, expressed her shock at being treated this way, stating that no one from the party reached out to her after her resignation. She attributed her decision to step down to the TMC's poor election results, taking personal responsibility for the party's failures. Dastidar indicated that she felt sidelined and neglected by the party leadership. In light of her disillusionment with the TMC, she announced her support for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and mentioned that nearly 20 party MPs are considering aligning with the NDA. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing national security and the interests of West Bengal in their future endeavors, indicating a shift in focus for the dissident group.
