Following the announcement of the CBSE 12th results, the Delhi High Court has intervened in a growing controversy surrounding the on-screen marking (OSM) system. The court issued notices to the central government and the CBSE after the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) filed a petition alleging significant technical issues with the evaluation process. The court's vacation bench, led by Justice Nina Bansal Krishna and Justice Madhu Jain, deemed the matter urgent and scheduled the next hearing for June 12. The NSUI is demanding manual rechecking of answer sheets, an extension of the re-evaluation application deadline, and compensatory marks for students affected by alleged flaws in the evaluation system. The CBSE has contested the petition, arguing it is politically motivated. The OSM system was introduced shortly before the exams, leading to complaints of blurred scans and discrepancies in marks. The Ministry of Education is currently reviewing the situation, having already replaced several senior officials in response to the issues raised.
