The Haryana energy minister, Anil Vij, has announced the approval for a new Machhonda sub-division in Ambala Cantonment, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of power distribution in the region. This new administrative unit will help address billing errors and expedite grievance redressal for local consumers and industrialists, significantly reducing the need for long travel distances for electricity-related services. The sub-division will oversee various localities, including Machhonda, Chandrapuri, Sundernagar, and several rural areas adjacent to these communities. In addition to this initiative, Minister Vij revealed that a dedicated electricity complaint centre in the Ambala Cantonment Industrial Area is almost complete and will soon be operational. This centre will be equipped with specialized vehicles, permanent maintenance staff, and advanced grievance logging software, allowing industrialists to address local power faults efficiently. The establishment of both the sub-division and the complaint centre is expected to significantly improve the overall electricity service experience for residents and businesses in Ambala Cantonment.
