The Odisha State Cabinet has approved the development of a Women Workers’ Hostel in the Kalibeti Industrial Area of Khordha district at an estimated cost of ₹210.36 crore. This project, which will be executed by the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO), is part of the Scheme for Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI). The hostel aims to provide modern and secure accommodation for around 4,000 women workers, thereby enhancing their safety and productivity. Located near workplaces, the facility is expected to reduce travel time and improve the quality of life for these workers. The Kalibeti Industrial Estate has become a significant textile and apparel manufacturing hub, attracting investments from major companies such as MAS Holdings and EPIC, and is projected to generate more than 20,000 employment opportunities in the coming years. This initiative reflects Odisha's commitment to fostering inclusive and worker-friendly industrial development, positioning the state as a prominent destination for textile manufacturing.
