Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly orchestrating the rejection of Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan's nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. Reddy described the incident as a conspiracy and an assault on democracy, claiming that the BJP is stifling public voices. Natarajan echoed these sentiments, accusing the BJP of manipulating the electoral process and subverting democracy in Madhya Pradesh by fielding a third candidate without adequate support. She emphasized that this issue transcends individual nominations, framing it as a broader struggle for the integrity of India's democratic framework. Congress leaders, including Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari, pledged to challenge the decision vigorously, asserting that the rejection was politically motivated. The Rajya Sabha biennial elections are set for June 18, and Congress aims to contest the BJP's actions through legal channels.
