Locals have increasingly relied on water tankers from the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) to meet their basic needs. Lilly, a resident, expressed frustration over the ongoing water issues, stating that they have been raising concerns for five years without resolution. Another local, Mantu Soni, highlighted the challenges faced in accessing water tankers in the mountainous areas, calling for improved distribution to alleviate the crisis. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings about the heatwave conditions expected to persist across Central and Northwest India, including Jharkhand, for several days. The IMD advises residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and recommends consuming seasonal fruits and cooling beverages to combat the heat. As the situation develops, the need for immediate action to address the water scarcity remains critical.
