On Tuesday morning, a tragic accident on the Amalner-Dhule highway near Mangrul village in Jalgaon led to the deaths of five people and injured two others. The incident occurred around 7 am when a sedan collided with a motorcycle traveling from Dhule to Amalner, striking it from behind. This initial impact caused the sedan to crash into an oncoming state transport (ST) bus. Among the deceased were two individuals on the motorcycle, including a woman, and three occupants of the sedan, while the driver sustained injuries. Additionally, a passenger on the ST bus suffered minor injuries. Local residents quickly responded to the scene, providing assistance and transporting the injured to a nearby hospital. Traffic on the highway was temporarily disrupted but has since resumed after police cleared the wreckage. The Amalner-Dhule highway is a single road without a divider, which may have contributed to the severity of the accident.
