The Jharkhand government is intensifying its summer tourism efforts, inspired by industrialist Anand Mahindra's promotion of the state's hidden gems. Mahindra's April post on social media showcased attractions like Netarhat's sunrises, Betla National Park, and the ancient Saranda forest, drawing attention to Jharkhand's potential as an eco-tourism destination. In response, the state tourism department is actively promoting destinations such as Meghahatuburu, Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, and Patratu Valley, focusing on nature-based getaways as school vacations commence.

To support this initiative, the government has earmarked ₹361.67 crore (approximately $43.5 million USD) in the 2026-27 budget for tourism development, which includes the creation of tourist corridors, visitor amenities, and eco-tourism facilities. Tourism Minister Sudivya Kumar stated that enhancing infrastructure will not only improve visitor experiences but also strengthen local economies through better accessibility and new tourism initiatives. The promotion of eco-cottages and homestays aims to engage local communities in the tourism sector. Visitors have expressed their appreciation for Jharkhand's serene environment, noting its appeal as a quieter alternative for families seeking nature-focused vacations.
