Gary Lineker opened up about his son George's early struggles with acute myeloid leukaemia, which he was diagnosed with as a baby, facing a grim survival rate of just 10 to 20%. Speaking on the Louis Theroux podcast, Lineker described the difficult period when George was hospitalized for seven months, during which he and his ex-wife, Michelle, spent most of their time at the hospital. Lineker took a break from playing for Tottenham Hotspur, finding that football provided a much-needed distraction. Fortunately, George, now 34, has overcome the odds and is in excellent health, described by his father as a 'fitness machine' who works out daily. Lineker noted that while there may be potential side effects from the illness in the future, George maintains a positive outlook and a good sense of humor. Lineker, who has four sons with Michelle, stated that he is currently not looking for a new partner after their divorce in 2006, focusing instead on his family and personal well-being.
