Akshay Kumar is collaborating with producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah for 'Samuk', described as India's largest alien action film, set to release in 2027. Directed by Kanishk Varma, the film uniquely blends elements of survival horror and alien thrillers, aiming to push the boundaries of Indian commercial cinema. Kumar expressed his excitement about exploring this new genre, stating, "I found the script and subject of Samuk fascinating." The film's production team aims to create a world-class alien thriller, integrating grounded action storytelling with practical effects and advanced visual world-building. Varma noted that the project is inspired by his admiration for elite security forces and classic sci-fi horror films like 'Alien' and 'Predator'. To enhance its authenticity, the film has enlisted acclaimed creature FX designer Alec Gillis to create the alien creature, while action sequences will be coordinated by British stunt expert Luke Tumber. This ambitious project is set to redefine the genre space in Indian cinema, promising an exhilarating experience for audiences.
