A 19-year-old first-year student at Delhi University, originally from Jaunpur, reported being drugged and gang-raped after being lured off a train in Lucknow on May 15. The victim, studying political science at Daulat Ram College, was persuaded by an acquaintance, Shivam Yadav, to leave the train at Charbagh railway station. After disembarking, she was taken to a rented room near a private hospital, where she was allegedly given a drugged beverage, rendering her unconscious. Over the next four days, she reported being sexually assaulted by Shivam, another man named Sunny Yadav, and a third unidentified individual. The victim was threatened with death if she resisted. After the assaults, she was returned to the railway station and traveled back to Delhi, where she reported the incident to her family and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). A zero FIR was filed, and the case was transferred to Lucknow police, who have initiated investigations and formed multiple teams to apprehend the suspects. Medical examinations corroborated the victim's claims of sexual assault and intoxication.
