On June 8, government authorities conducted a significant anti-drug operation in Sitio Salumayag, Barangay Halapitan, San Fernando, Bukidnon, resulting in the uprooting of 800 fully grown marijuana plants. The operation was a collaborative effort involving the 2nd Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, 1003rd Maneuver Company, and the 89th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army. The team trekked through challenging terrain for over five hours to reach the site, where the marijuana plants were found intercropped with cassava and tobacco to obscure them from view. The uprooted plants were valued at approximately P150,000, with most being burned on-site while samples were collected for laboratory analysis. Authorities are now working to identify the landowner responsible for the cultivation of these illegal plants.
