Kangana Ranaut recently took to social media to honor the legendary actress and classical dancer Vyjayanthimala, describing her as 'heavenly' and celebrating her remarkable legacy in Indian cinema. Sharing a vintage video of Vyjayanthimala performing a classical dance, Ranaut expressed admiration for her grace and artistic brilliance, stating, 'not everyone who lives on earth is a human, some are heavenly.'

Vyjayanthimala, born on August 13, 1933, began her illustrious career at the age of 16, debuting in the Tamil film 'Vaazhkai' in 1949 and transitioning to Hindi cinema with 'Bahar' in 1951. She became a household name with the success of 'Nagin' in 1954 and starred in classics such as 'Devdas' and 'Sangam.' Her pairing with Dilip Kumar is particularly celebrated in Indian film history.

In addition to her film career, Vyjayanthimala is renowned for her mastery of Bharatanatyam, performing globally and even at the United Nations General Assembly. She also ventured into politics, serving as a Lok Sabha MP and later in the Rajya Sabha. Her accolades include the Padma Shri and the Padma Vibhushan, awarded in 2024.
