Two Shiv Sena MPs from Thane district, Naresh Mhaske and Dr. Shrikant Shinde, have been honored with the Sansad Ratna Award 2026 for their exemplary performance in Parliament, marking their second consecutive year receiving this accolade. The award recognizes their contributions up to the Budget Session 2026 and will be presented in July in New Delhi, coinciding with the 150th Sansad Ratna Award ceremony. Mhaske, a first-time MP, has been acknowledged for his active involvement in discussions, particularly regarding the Union Budget, and has received praise for his well-prepared speeches and consistent presence in the Lok Sabha. He credited his recognition to Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde and dedicated it to voters and party workers. Dr. Shinde has also been recognized for his participation in significant national issues, including infrastructure and healthcare, and has introduced six Private Members’ Bills. The Sansad Ratna Award, instituted in 2010, serves as a benchmark for parliamentary excellence, highlighting the contributions of MPs based on attendance, debate participation, and the number of questions raised.
