The Punjab Police have successfully thwarted a planned highway robbery in Gurdaspur, Punjab, by arresting six suspects. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Aditya reported that four of the arrested individuals have criminal backgrounds. During the operation, police seized a .30 calibre pistol with four live rounds and other sharp weapons. The investigation revealed that five of the suspects hail from Patiala district, with one individual having 14 FIRs against him, while two others have two FIRs each. The police intercepted the group as they were preparing for the robbery. A case has been registered, and further interrogation is underway to identify any additional accomplices and the full extent of their criminal network. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Punjab Police to combat crime in the region.
