A recent report indicates that 70% of UK businesses are now employing artificial intelligence (AI), resulting in significant benefits such as enhanced productivity and revenue growth. The study, which analyzed data from 5.3 million businesses globally, found that 77% of UK firms reported increased productivity, while 43% claimed a boost in turnover. Additionally, 27% of businesses noted that AI has shortened their workdays, and 28% experienced a decrease in costs. However, the report highlights a concerning regional disparity in AI adoption. London firms are 13.2 percentage points more likely to use AI extensively, while businesses in the South East and South West show lower adoption rates. Andrew Price, CEO of Synapx, emphasized that AI enables smaller teams to operate with greater efficiency, unlocking sustainable growth. Despite the uneven adoption, many businesses leveraging AI are seeing positive outcomes, with one in five reporting increased hiring due to AI integration. Ciarán Quilty from Intuit noted a shift towards proactive AI systems that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
