India's wrestling team excelled at the U23 Asian Championships held at the Tien Son Sport Centre in Da Nang, Vietnam, securing three gold medals on the second day of competition. Mansi Lather dominated the 68kg final, defeating Uzbekistan's Firuza Esenbaeva with a score of 14-1. Kajal also showcased her skills in the 76kg final, blanking Kyrgyzstan's Aizharkyn Zhanybekova 10-0, while Sumit triumphed in the 63kg category with a 12-2 victory over Uzbekistan's Ozodbek Khalilboev. In addition to the gold medals, the Indian contingent earned two silver medals, with Sweety narrowly losing her match 5-7 against Vietnam's Ngoc L. Do, and Neha falling 9-5 to Uzbekistan's Laylokhon Sobirova. The team also secured three bronze medals, with notable performances from Ahilya S. Shinde, Neeraj Patel, and Rohit Bura, who all won their respective matches convincingly. Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Sanjay Singh praised the wrestlers for their exceptional performances, highlighting the depth and determination of Indian wrestling.
