Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, has made a public appeal to Chief Ministers across India, urging them to provide free bus travel for students appearing for the NEET re-exam scheduled on June 21. In a video shared on X, he praised Haryana and Bihar for following Punjab's initiative to waive bus fares for students. Kejriwal stated, "I request all the Chief Ministers to announce it. The students will be very happy. They are working very hard."
Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann previously announced that students could travel for free on Punjab Roadways buses from June 20 to 22 by presenting their admit cards. He highlighted the financial struggles of many students from economically weaker backgrounds who often cannot afford travel expenses to reach their exam centers.
Following Punjab's lead, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini confirmed that the state would also offer free bus services for NEET candidates. This support comes in the wake of the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam on May 12 due to a paper leak, which affected over 22 lakh candidates across more than 5,400 centers.
