On Sunday, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar chaired a high-level meeting in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, to review the preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The SIR aims to enhance the accuracy of the voter list by identifying categories of voters including absent, shifted, deceased, duplicate, and foreign voters. Kumar encouraged voters to submit recent passport-size photographs and to cooperate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the revision process. Chief Electoral Officer B V R C Purushottam reported that 89% of mapping work has been completed, and preparations for printing enumeration forms are finalized. Training for District Election Officers, Deputy DEOs, and other electoral staff is ongoing, with the initial phase already concluded. Voter awareness campaigns are being implemented across multiple platforms to promote participation in the revision exercise. Additionally, all District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers have been instructed to conduct weekly meetings with political parties to ensure transparency and cooperation.
