During Tata Consultancy Services' (TCS) 31st Annual General Meeting on June 9, Chairman N Chandrasekaran addressed shareholder concerns regarding artificial intelligence (AI), asserting that it represents a significant opportunity for growth in the IT services sector. He argued that AI will expand the global technology market, predicting it will grow from approximately $1.6 trillion to $3 trillion over the next decade. Chandrasekaran emphasized that AI should be seen as foundational infrastructure that enhances technology adoption across industries, rather than a mere technology that threatens existing jobs. He identified five key opportunities arising from AI, including the modernization of enterprise technology and AI-led business transformation. TCS has already reported annualized AI revenues of $2.4 billion, growing at a compound quarterly growth rate of 22.4%. Looking forward, Chandrasekaran predicted that TCS will have as many AI agents as human employees within three years, underscoring the transformative potential of AI for the company and its clients.
