On Sunday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inspected the ongoing construction of the Assam Bhawan in New Delhi, which is designed to enhance the state's presence in the national capital. During the visit, Sarma reviewed the project's progress and engaged with officials, including Resident Commissioner Kavita Padmanabhan. He emphasized the importance of completing the construction within the designated timeframe while maintaining high quality standards. The Assam Bhawan is set to provide improved accommodation and administrative support for visitors from Assam, featuring three basements, a ground floor, and six upper floors. Additionally, CM Sarma met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss Assam's future growth and development, expressing gratitude for the Union government's ongoing support over the past five years. The discussions included the state's priorities for development in the coming years.
