The Minnesota Children's Museum has unveiled 'Monsters on Vacation,' a unique exhibit designed to foster social and emotional learning among young children through imaginative play. Officially opened on May 23, 2023, the exhibit will be available until January 10, 2027. It features friendly monster characters and interactive activities that encourage children to explore their emotions in a fun, supportive environment. Key attractions include the 'Feed the Tree Monsters' activity, where kids can send foam fruit to hungry monsters, and the 'Monster Obstacle Course,' which invites them to navigate through playful challenges. Additionally, the exhibit includes a Lifeguard Station for caring for little monsters and an Underwater Dance Floor for creative expression. Recognizing a decline in social-emotional skills among children, the museum aims to provide experiences that help kids identify and manage their feelings. Alongside the main exhibit, the museum will host themed events and transform its maker space into the Monster Puppet Studio, where children can create their own puppets. Admission to the exhibit is included with general museum tickets, which start at $17.95.
