Dr. Sujana from GGH Vijayawada reported that screening tests for international passengers at Gannavaram Airport have been conducted for the past 20 days, with specific focus on travelers arriving from Singapore, who are tested three times weekly. Recently, 127 passengers were screened without any Ebola symptoms detected. Special tests were also conducted for Haj pilgrims arriving last week, and quarantine facilities are prepared for any potential cases. The Central Government has issued travel advisories discouraging non-essential trips to regions experiencing Ebola outbreaks, including Congo and Uganda, which the World Health Organization has classified as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. The Africa CDC has similarly declared the situation a Public Health Emergency of Continental Security, emphasizing the need for enhanced surveillance at points of entry to manage travelers showing unexplained febrile illnesses.
