In light of the extreme heat affecting various regions in India, South East Central Railway has implemented water misting systems at key railway stations such as Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, and Gondia. This initiative aims to enhance passenger comfort by lowering the ambient temperature on platforms through fine water sprays. The railway administration has reiterated its commitment to passenger convenience during the summer season, particularly during the sweltering afternoon hours when temperatures can exceed 40°C. The continuous operation of these misting systems is designed to create a cooler environment for travelers, ensuring a more pleasant waiting experience. Concurrently, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported widespread heatwave conditions across Northern, Central, and Western India, with forecasts indicating that these extreme temperatures are expected to persist for at least the next six days. States such as East Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi are among those experiencing severe heat, prompting local administrations to implement emergency measures.
