A recent report indicates that AI is significantly benefiting UK businesses, with 70% now incorporating AI into their operations. Among these, 77% have experienced productivity boosts, while 43% attribute revenue increases to AI. Additionally, 27% of businesses report shorter workdays, and 28% have seen a reduction in costs. However, the report highlights a concerning divide in AI adoption, particularly between London and other regions. Businesses in London are 13.2 percentage points more likely to employ AI extensively compared to their counterparts elsewhere, with firms in the South East and South West less inclined to adopt AI at all. Andrew Price, CEO of Synapx, emphasizes that AI enables small teams to function with the capabilities of larger organizations, fostering sustainable growth. Despite geographical disparities, many businesses adopting AI are realizing significant rewards, including increased hiring. Ciarán Quilty from Intuit notes that businesses are transitioning from reactive software to proactive AI systems, allowing them to focus on growth rather than administrative tasks.
