On Tuesday, Nara Lokesh, the Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT, Electronics and Communication, visited the families of eight workers who tragically lost their lives in an explosion at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, operated by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL). The explosion, which occurred on Monday, also left six others critically injured. Lokesh met the bereaved families at King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam, where he expressed his condolences and listened to their grievances. Accompanied by Union Minister of State for Steel Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma and other officials, Lokesh assured the families of the government's unwavering support during this time of sorrow. He stated, "I have come here to stand by the affected families in this time of deep sorrow," and emphasized the commitment to provide necessary assistance. Addressing public concerns about safety standards at the plant, Lokesh confirmed that a thorough inquiry is in progress, promising that strict action will be taken against those found responsible once the report is submitted. This incident has raised significant concerns about workplace safety and accountability within industrial operations.
