In Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines, rescuers have detected possible signs of life beneath the rubble of a collapsed nine-story building located in Barangay Balibago. Fire Chief Superintendent Wilberto Rico Neil Kwan Tiu reported that initial operations revealed three potential survivors, including a foreign guest staying at a nearby apartelle that was struck by debris from the building. Rescuers have established four designated work zones to facilitate the search and retrieval operations, where they have been able to provide water and communicate with the trapped individuals. Earlier reports indicated that 24 individuals had already been rescued from the collapsed structure, while two others were saved from the nearby apartelle. The ongoing rescue efforts are supported by personnel from various agencies, including the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, and Philippine Coast Guard. Kwan Tiu emphasized that the operation will be lengthy but remains hopeful for more rescues.
