India has strongly criticized Pakistan for its treatment of people in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), urging the international community to hold Islamabad accountable for human rights violations. This statement follows reports of police violence that resulted in the deaths of over 20 protesters in various areas of PoK. Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India's External Affairs Ministry, highlighted Pakistan's attempts to deflect attention from its failures and accused it of spreading misinformation to cover up its alleged abuses. He noted that there is a concerning pattern of fake news and videos emerging from Pakistan, which he described as desperate attempts to obscure the reality of the situation. The UK parliamentary group has also raised alarms regarding the escalating tensions in PoK and cited reports of a communication blackout in the region. Jaiswal reiterated the hope that the international community would take action against Pakistan for its misdeeds, emphasizing the need for accountability in light of the severe police brutality and the loss of lives during recent protests.
