They will return to their regular slots on June 10, with Coronation Street airing at 7:30pm and Emmerdale at 7:00pm. To compensate for the missed episodes, both soaps will feature extended broadcasts on June 12, airing from 8pm to 10pm. Viewers have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction, with many suggesting that sports should not interfere with popular programming. ITV's director of television, Kevin Lygo, defended the new schedule, stating it is viewer-led and designed to cater to changing viewing habits, emphasizing shorter episodes that appeal to modern audiences.
