G Parameshwara, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, voiced his frustration over being denied the chief minister's post on three occasions, expressing that he considered exiting politics if the Congress high command did not appoint him during the recent leadership transition. Speaking informally at a felicitation event at Siddhartha College in Tumakuru, Parameshwara reflected on his political journey, noting that he had hoped to become CM after the 2013 and 2018 elections but was ultimately overlooked. He highlighted that in 2013, Siddaramaiah took the position after Parameshwara lost the election in Koratagere, and in 2018, political alliances led to H D Kumaraswamy becoming CM instead of him. Parameshwara lamented that he was confident about his chances during the latest leadership change, only to see D K Shivakumar elevated to the position while he remained deputy CM. With four decades of political experience, he acknowledged the support he received from the public but indicated that continued denial of leadership roles might push him to reconsider his political career.
